I have a friend that I'd like to honor today before the clock strikes midnight and her special day is over. I moved back to Conroe the summer before my 6th grade year. When I started school in the fall it was difficult to break into a place where long time Conroe kids had grown up and friendships had been established. Having a September birthday, I decided that there was no better way to make friends than to invite all the girls to my 12th birthday slumber party! (Yes my mom was nuts!) So, about 13 preteen girls took over my house for a crazy celebration (10 years later we were still finding silly string behind furniture).
Anyways, I have digressed. Robyn was one of those girls that was invited and attended although we laugh now because she told her mom she didn't want to go and her mom was nervous about her spending the night because "she didn't even know my parents." Robyn and I were inseperable from that day on and really so were our moms. Where one of us was, the other was. What one of us did, the other did. I always say if it wasn't for Robyn in High School, I am not sure I would have been as strong in my faith and probably would have gotten in a lot more trouble. We knew that we could stick together and resist so many of the temptations that teenagers face by doing so. The amazing thing is that our friendship still remained even after living together for 4 years at A&M.
There are so many funny memories that I have shared with her. If I shared some of them now, I promise you would pee in your pants...okay maybe you wouldn't, but I think Robyn and I would as we relived them in our minds. We've also been through some tough times. She is an amazing person with so many qualities that I admire. She's loyal, self sacrificing, sensitive, compassionate and just fun to be around. She's an awesome wife, mom, daughter and FRIEND! Countless tears, struggles, laughs and heartache have been shared.
God has blessed me with some truly amazing friends. As I look at the world around me and meet different people throughout my journey in life, I am reminded of the unique and awesome friendships that I have been surrounded with. Robyn is one of those life long friends that I can't imagine being without. Thank you Robyn for putting up with me for the last 22 years (we can't be that old can we?) Happy 34th Birthday Ra!

I'll second that - you two were a hoot (no pun intended) in college. Robin is pretty spectacular...happy bday!!
