BYE BYE TONSILS!

Tomorrow morning before the sun rises, I'll grab my little man out of bed and take him for what he thinks will be an exciting day! Colson, at the big boy age of 5, will have his tonsils and adenoids removed. All of this came about over the last few months when I've slowly been piecing things together to come to the conclusion that maybe his tonsils are too big. So, we ventured to the Doctor a few weeks ago and sure enough they are! They rank them in size from a 1 to 4 and then kissing. His is between a 4 and kissing.

So we head in tomorrow to get them removed. I admit that I don't set very realistic expectations for my kids for these kind of things. So Colson thinks this will be like a trip to Disney or something. When we decided to do the surgery he called everyone to tell them and then said "are you gonna be there?" It's one big party for him. And he's excited for the sympathy presents that the grandma's have already promised him, the unlimited amount of ice cream and the friends I told him he could invite over. I did have to burst his bubble and let him know that they wouldn't be coming over all at once...he was disappointed for a minute.

The really sucky thing is that he's not supposed to run, jump, ride bikes or anything that gets his heart rate up for 14 DAYS!!! That will definately be a challenge. So, heres what we are praying for.
1. Obviously that the surgery will go smoothly and no complications.
2. That he will come out of anesthesia okay. I've heard some kids can come out of the surgery not wanting to breath because it hurts so bad. And then the nurses are throwing oxygen masks on them trying to make them breath....things I really would rather not experience.
3. That he will comply for the next 14 days as we hunker down and take it easy.

I tried multiple times to take pictures of his tonsils tonight and just couldn't get it. He finally said "no more pictures mom". I'll try to post how everything goes tomorrow!
