ALL THINGS NEW

And another school year has started....another year of early mornings...another year of homework....another year of after school activities...another year of accomplishments...another year of failures...and I could go on and on and on.

So I've got a 3rd grader and a 7th grader in the house. Needless to say, we are not short on smart comments, know it all answers or scenarios of destruction....but we've started off to a great year. And this year we are not only starting new grades (which happens every year) but we're also venturing into a new housing situation. Another blog post of its own.

I think it's going to be a great year for Calli as she's a Brabham Bobkat cheerleader and just an all around GREAT kid. I couldn't be more proud of her. She found out today that she QUALIFIED to take the SAT in both Math and English. She said that many of her friends didn't qualify for either and for those that did, most didn't qualify for both. She was excited and I'm happy for her. Here she is on the first day of school at the crack of dawn. We still don't like the early mornings but they do make for a productive day.
Colson had a FABULOUS first day...and first month really. He climbed in the car and before the door was even shut to the car he shouted out "That was the best day ever. I can't wait to go home and go to bed so I can wake up tomorrow." What was even cuter was the next week when I picked him up, he climbed in the car and before the door was even shut to the car he sadly said "I don't understand why they have to ruin such perfect days with homework"

While I don't really care for his first day of school outfit, it was really the best we had because at 11 oclock at night the day before school starts, I realized I had all his nicer, new clothes at the house that was 25 minutes away. I tried not to fret over it and just "went with the flow". Seriously though, if he could have taken Jax to 3rd grade it would have made the first hour of school much more bearable. I could tell he was nervous. He complained that his stomach hurt all the way to school and he wanted to go see Mrs. Martin before he went anywhere. That was his security.

He made it through and he's doing great. It's going to be a great year....and I promise I'll try to keep blogging.
