Oh the beauty of this part of the country! And oh the GLORIOUS weather! It was so fantastic we wore light pullovers in the morning and evening with shorts. I broke a sweat ONE time and that's because I overexerted myself on one of the ropes course because frankly I'm just too old for it. Then we come back to Texas and I broke a sweat walking from the airport elevator to my car.
We had a fabulous time in Yellowstone and experienced it in every format I know of expect on bicycle. We rode four wheelers through the Grand Tetons.
We did horseback through the National Forest.
We drove from one part of the park to the other stopping at beautiful spots along the way. We hiked through some really beautiful touristy parts and it was all terrific!

We fished
We spotted wildlife including this Buffalo who was meandering down the yellow stripe of the road until he crossed over a car ahead of us.

Colson and Wes saw this adorable black bear (from the safety of their car)
While Calli and I rode the tram to the top of the mountain to see the snow still on it.
Colson caught this little water snake
And he fed berries to the chipmunks

We stayed 3 nights in Jacksonhole
We stayed 2 nights in a really cute town called West Yellowstone where we added $200 to our trip cost. The town was so cute they had these cute little curbs that blended in with the business driveways and we parallel parked in a driveway instead of what we thought was a curb. So our car got towed. Wes should have taken a picture as I was running to the tow truck as it was ready to pull it down the road. I was mad! He drove it right down the street and handed me a card for a number to call. He turned out to be nice and the policeman that came to help get it released didn't give us a fine and was also nice but still!
We hiked up to the beautiful "Inspiration Point" at Jenny Lake
And we stayed one night at Old Faithful Inn…an iconic hotel that has lots of history in it. But you won't find A/C or television. Call me smart for me not telling anyone this until we checked into our room.
We had a great time! Everyone got along which is a victory!
Besides the car tow, the only thing that could have made it better was if Wes hadn't had a throbbing toothache from days 2-6. Luckily I had brought some antibiotic that he started taking after it had gotten so bad which is why it felt better the day before we left. He went to the dentist before we even went home…drove straight from airport to get a root canal. Only he didn't need one. The only thing they could figure out is that he had some kind of inflammation and the antibiotic helped.
