BEACH BABES

Calli and I spent the last week in Destin….our first time….with our friends Hailey and Kylie Dobraski. We had a great time and the beach was FANTASTIC! The weather was really strange and somewhat frustrating. It rained every day and we would check the weather every hour and every hour it would show something different. Apparently, if you ask the locals, the Destin weather is very unpredictable. The first day it rained most of the day. About 3 PM the hard rain had finally stopped and it was just so windy…..a little peak of the sun came through the clouds. The other days it just rained either in the morning or the afternoon and the sun was much brighter when it was out.

Hailey and I enjoyed the sun, water and beach chairs :). The girls acted like they did but they only wanted to take cute pictures, play in the water for an hour or so and say they love the beach. Crazy girls.

The house was perfect. Literally right on the beach. We walked out our back porch into the beautiful white sand.

In the evenings we would play Taboo and Heads Up which provoked too much laughing. You know when you laugh so hard your cheeks hurt….and you may or may not pee on yourself? Yea, that's how hard we laughed. For the record Kylie sucks at both games. If I had a video of her acting out airport security it would go viral.

The girls challenged us to some beach volleyball and we actually held our own even though they laughed at our expense. The first day the moms won the first set and the girls won the next 2. The second day, us moms won the first 2 sets and therefore earned bragging rights.

We did a Segway tour of Destin which was fun. Kylie and Hailey had never done Segways. They picked it up quickly and we got to see a lot of the cute little town.

We went and rode go carts one day too.

Our favorite thing was riding the banana boat. It was sprinkling that morning so we weren't sure if we'd get to go out. But we were going to get wet anyways so as long as it wasn't storming or lightening, the ride was on. And it was a thrill that we were all glad we took! The girls were nervous about doing it…in fact they had to be talked into doing it. And they both said it was the most fun they had.

We also enjoyed the beach at night. WOW! Can you say relaxing? The girls went down all 3 nights after Hailey and I went to bed and stayed until the wee hours of the night.

We also had lunch at a restaurant that literally has over 1 million one dollar bills pinned to the ceiling and walls. It was really quite a sight.

I know I won't have many more of these bonding moments with my Calli girl. I think it was the perfect thing we needed to kick off this memorable Senior year.
