TRICK OR TREAT

I told the story often this Halloween...this holiday is one of those ones that I was so excited to participate in when Calli was 7 mos and slowly the excitement has worn off over the years. Now that my kids are really into it I think "We've been here, done this and gotten (multiple) t-shirts". When they were little we could have totally skipped it and noone would have known. Now that they are bigger there is no chance in the world we could skip it.

So a few weeks ago in an effort to get Colson to shop with me at Marshall's, I lured him by saying we were going to get his Halloween costume. He picked out a cool army dude with built in muscles and everything. But of course it wasn't even October yet so when it came time for Mrs. Cathy's Halloween party 3 weeks later, he decided army man wasn't cool enough....or scary enough really. As I've mentioned before Colson is scared of EVERYTHING so there was no way I was going to let him pick out something scary. The final selection...a bumble bee and a Star Wars guy.

Colson didn't care to wear his mask any. And by the end of the night, he really didn't like his costume.
This was at Mrs. Cathy's party!

On actual Halloween night we headed over to a friend of Colson's where we enjoyed a hayride trick or treat event. The kids had a ball. I didn't even have to get up off of the trailer once. And we now have candy galore.

Check out the make up on Hali's face. Her mom said it took her over an hour.
And Colson adapted his costume again...He's a Star Wars dude gone wild with green and red hair. He didn't want to wear his mask (again) he just wanted his hair colored.
This is Karson's brother Kanden who LOVES Calli! He spent half the night with her.

I'm glad we survived another year of Halloween....maybe next year we can plan a trip somewhere. I would so not get Mom of the Year for that huh?
