A couple of weekends ago, The Schubert kids wrapped up their sports with some wins. Calli's Regional season was over in cheer. I've said before that the regional season in cheer competition is not near as cut throat and competitive as the Nationals season which starts mid January. Calli's team hasn't done so well this Regional season. They have placed second a few times losing by such a small margin but yet still a loss. This last competition they were against two other very good teams which meant the pressure was on. I watched them at Wednesday's practice and if it was any indication of how they'd do on Saturday, I was ready to go buy the comfort food for the sorrow that Calli would experience. They dropped one stunt every.single.time and their tumbling wasn't that great. But they pulled it together for Saturdays competition and they not only won first for their age and level but they won HIGH POINT which means they beat every level 4 team that was there...no matter what age they were. That's a pretty cool honor AND a GREAT way to wrap up.

Colson's team also swept the baseball fields bringing home ANOTHER trophy. We stomped the 3 teams we played and honestly it really wasn't even fair. I was told that once it was official that we were playing on Wednesday of that week, they had 5 teams drop out of the tournament. Some say it was because they didn't want to play us....there probably is some truth to that but I don't know if you can contribute all of them to that. So the 3 that ended up staying in didn't get the memo that we were GOOD!
And one of the highlights was that Grandpa Murdock was there to see the win. He's been out of town most of this Fall season so it was nice having him there to cheer Colson on. And it meant a lot to Colson .
I was looking forward to a week off of no sports with him but of course that was short lived. We finished baseball Sunday, I basked in my practice free day on Monday and received a call on Tuesday from his basketball coach on Tuesday....practices started that night. At least it's inside cuz when it gets cold...if it gets cold...practices outside become very hard to sit through.
