For the last 2 years Calli gets these throat infections twice a year. Once in the Fall, once in the Spring. It usually lasts about 10 days, never tested positive for strep and her throat would get so soar it affected her eating and her speaking.
I got her to an ENT in the Spring, they took one look and said oh yes, those need to come out. The problem is, she can't do ANYTHING for 2 weeks. Do you know how difficult it is to find 2 weeks in her schedule where she has nothing? We had to wait until summer because of Woodlands Elite cheer and we ended up timing it to take place the week before the gym is closed for the week for 4th of July.
She was so super nervous to have surgery but you must know that she's SO DRAMATIC about things like this. "I'm going to die" and "I'm scared" come out of her mouth every day for things as simple as what she's about to eat for dinner. The surgery was easy and the pain was good coming off the anesthesia.
The pain was bad for the first 3 days but she never really complained. She stayed not the heavy duty pain meds for about 8 days. Then went to Tylenol. They say days 1 -3 are bad and 7-10 are bad. She started having a desire to get back to normal life around day 9. She wasn't supposed to do ANY physical activity until day 15. I let her stunt on day 12.
She's all better now. She lived! Thank goodness….I need this sweet smile in my life as long as I can have it.
