Colson got the game ball!!!! While I was sad we weren't there to see his smiling face nor feel his heart beating out of his chest, modern technology (and my 10 year old daughter who showed my dad how to work the modern technology) allowed us to see. It still blows my mind the things we can do now days from this handheld device.
He hasn't said but I'm pretty sure up until Friday he had dreamed of getting it several times. I know he has wished out loud or referenced different scenarios where he could get the game ball. After the first few games he would follow the coach around as they prepared to huddle asking "Are you going to give the game ball coach?" He even asked him one day after practice if he was going to give a game ball away. Uhhhh it's a GAME ball Colson, not a practice ball.
According to the on lookers he had a really good hit, almost to the fence (in the air). His coach has really been working on his hitting with him because he likes to hit it right to the first baseman. AND he almost caught a fly ball. When Colson first explained it to me he said he got the game ball because he had a good hit and he was standing by a fly ball. I asked him if he tried to catch it and he clarified by saying that yes he tried to catch it and he almost did.
We are definately improving!
