DEFENSE

We took a mini break from baseball. It was so mini that I'm not sure we really had one. We started back to baseball 2 weeks ago and our first tournament is next weekend. Kind of excited but I'd be lieing if I told you I didn't need a weekend to do nothing. I KNEW going into it that this last stint of the cheer season was going to be tough but what I didn't remember was that my work schedule is crazy in February and March too. I'm just trying to stay afloat. My new motto is JOY in the little things. I think I had that motto in December too but between December and March (don't count the months because there aren't many) I needed to be re-reminded.

During our mini break and during Calli's crazy cheer season, Colson played a little basketball. He's aggressive and a hussler on the court. Not the best shooter but he knows that and is ok with it. I actually think he's better than he gets a chance to show us on Saturday mornings because the games end up being a little football too and so these kids are fouling every where which makes it hard to get shots up.

One Saturday we even were surprised with Grandpa Murdock in town. Luckily it was the same Saturday I had my camera!

I found out Monday that he made one of the All Star basketball teams so his last game is this Saturday. I missed less than half of them (all due to cheer). I have however missed the lasts two and unfortunately will have to miss the All Star game this Saturday.

Oh well, it's fun to change it up a little and watch something a little more fast paced and something in which he doesn't have melt downs when he makes a mistake. I'm hoping this baseball season will be a little easier mentally for him too. We'll see.

I didn't get very many good shots but here's proof that I don't have an active imagination and didn't fabricate the whole season.

This is Karson and Colson-these two stick together. Karson's Uncle has coached these boys the last 2 years but couldn't do it this year because he works out of town now. On the few Saturdays that he was in town, he was reminding the boys of the picks he had taught them and they'd work to execute them. I'd be hollaring at Colson to get on "his man" and Wes would say "stop, they are doing a pick". Oops!

Colson is #2...leaping for the block.
