Our Rebel boys are starting to get their groove as a team. The more the play the better they get. (I know....duh!! That's profound!) A couple of weeks ago we made it into the championship game and really had a shot at winning. It was Easter weekend so we played Friday/Saturday instead of Saturday/Sunday. On Friday night at the second game Colson had 3 at bats and 3 inside the park home runs. I videoed the last one thinking 'how crazy would it be if he got a 3rd home run?' and sure enough he did. This is the only one that was really a home run because of an over throw and really he probably could have made it in and beat the shortstops throw but he paused and when the shortstop threw and the catcher missed, Colson took advantage. The other two he hit he was crossing home plate by the time the outfield had relayed it into the shortstop. All hit over their heads! It was fun!
And they still got a trophy for second!
This last weekend we got third and lost the game that would have gotten us to the championship game by ONE POINT in the last inning. It was nail biting but their bats were good and their defense was awesome! They were disappointed. At this age we are trying to overcome the mental aspect of baseball causing us to lose. Oh my gosh!!! Drama Kings!! They think we are kidding when we say "THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!" They fall apart if they make a mistake. Tears, or on the verge, if they don't hit good. I'm hoping they grow out of that soon.
It's so fun to watch them play hard, make great plays, knock the snot out of the ball and have fun....as a TEAM!
Mother of 2....3 if you count my charming husband. Running the race each day that God has put before me. Sometimes fun, sometimes challenging, sometimes sad, sometimes frustrating but earnestly striving to do everything for His glory. As the hours turn into days, days into months and months into years all within a blink of an eye, this blog is an effort to record those moments in our lives that someday can be reflected on, shared and laughed over.
