WOODLANDS ELITE

Calli's home team Green Berets is a Level 4 Junior Small Team. This means there are 20 girls doing level 4 skills ages 14 years and younger. The girls are mostly in the 12 to 14 year range except the flyers....they are usually in the 9 year old range since they need to be tinier to stunt them.

Green Berets was rumored amongst the coaches to be one of the best in the gym. Obviously they aren't they highest level of skills because there is one level higher but in terms of skills with what they are allowed to do, cleanness, jumps, tumbling, etc the team is really good. But then we haven't really lived up to that expectation. We had a little hiccup when 2 hours before our first competition....I said hours not days.....Calli's flyer who is center flyer texted our coach and said she quit the team. That really set us back 2 competitions. There was no way to win that competition because we were down a whole stunt that couldn't go up at all because we had no flyer. Then the next week was the next competition and we spent our entire practice teaching the new flyer the routine instead of being able to clean it. And since then we've had a different stunt fall every competition. The only one that hasn't fallen is Calli's....I hope I didn't just jinx her.

I think we've won one competition. Hoping to have a better Nationals season. Luckily she is double teaming for Regionals (and maybe the rest of the season) for Majors, the large team, level 4 Junior team. They have a girl out with back problems so Calli has taken her spot since the first competition. And they've won several. Here are some pics from the Regional season so far...
