2014 WORLDS

For the last 3 years Calli has asked to go to the Worlds Cheerleading competition at DisneyWorld. This year I decided to surprise her for her birthday. And since just going with me wouldn't be cool enough, I invited her cheer friend Kendall Jones to join us. Kendall lives in Beaumont (she drives 1.5 hours ONE WAY to get to Woodlands Elite, 3 days a week) and has cheered with Calli for 2 years. They have become very close. Funny story about Kendall. She started last season and on her first day she was basing with Calli. Calli got in the car that night and told me all about Kendall, how she didn't like her, how she just wanted to stunt with Sydney and was really upset. Fast forward 4 months and they were tight and unstoppable as stunt partners. Fast forward  years and they are the best of friends.

I surprised the girls during Spring Break when Kendall was with us. I made these cute little "tickets" and put them in a box of cookies that I had picked up from the mall.

Calli opened the box and at first thought the ticket was a coupon…and then realized what it was which caused running through the kitchen screaming.

This was Kendall's first time to fly and she did great!

Worlds is like the Olympics for cheerleading. And it's held at DisneyWorld…the ESPN center. So we spent some of our time exploring Disney and some of our time watching teams. Woodlands Elite had 4 teams competing this year and ALL 4 made it to the top 10. One was the SHSU team that isn't under  the WE full control but still considered a WE team. The 3 main WE teams finished
Lady Ops 9th
Black Ops 6th
Generals 4th

They competed against teams literally from all over the world. It was exciting to watch. And Calli will be there not this coming season but the next one so hopefully it made the experience much less scary being on the observer side.

This was on our way into the Tower of Terror….they were holding hands for moral support.

If there is a choice of eating Hibachi, they go for it EVERY.TIME.

And they couldn't put down their phones for longer than 60 seconds. They were snap chatting on the rides, it was bizarre.
