One of our favorite weekends of the year is Worlds! Love me some Disney…..Love me some competitive cheer…..LOVE me some BLOPS! This year Hood came with me again. This will be hear last year as next year she won't be able to go because of it being Jordan's Senior year and he'll have baseball stuff. We also had Lyndsay's mom, Melissa with us. The 3 of us had a good time and we stayed in the same hotel as the girls so they hung out with us a lot too.
After day 1 BLOPS were 3rd which I think surprised all of us. The performance was great but I think all along as parents (and athletes) we weren't sure we had a strong enough routine to be in the top 3. Day 1 proved that we did and these kids wanted it bad! Top 10 is a big deal at Worlds but top 3 is a BIG DEAL!
We had a small incident on day 2 but after seeing all of the competition, we still thought we would land at 3. Place 1 and 2 absolutely deserved it. To hear that we got 5th was slightly disappointing and we were all dumbfounded honestly. But again Top 5 is amazing.
The kids got one week off….only because the coaches were at Summit and 9 days after their last performance on this years Black Ops they were trying out for next season. Cheer season never ends.
