As the girls arrived, my mother in law checked them in and had them fill out a registration card telling some things about them and what song they were going to sing. She then directed them back to hair and make up where Christina and I fancied them up. They all wanted pink or red hair...we had some rocker styles singing Taylor Swift songs. After they were styled up, they had some pizza as they waited. I downloaded all of the songs they said they were going to sing on my ipod and played that off the karaoke machine. It did take the girls a while to get into it. I thought that they would dance around on the stage a little more while they sang but they seemed to be really obsessed with getting the words out and singing well that they only produced some soft swaying or feet tapping. After the first couple we did have groups go up and start dancing behind the singers so much so that I had to limit it to two "backup dancers" per song and they had to rotate out. That proved to be entertaining. I videoed the whole thing and everyone was given the recorded production as their gift when they left the next morning. You know kids this age always like watching themselves on tv.
Calli was last and sang "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw (her and her daddy's song)No judges showed up but we did give out awards complete with trophies. And we even had our idol contestants do a group song...Happy Birthday!

The 'What was I thinking' moment came about 10 o'clock when I realized that the only thing that 10 young girls can do together is run and jump and scream.....and these girls were pros at that. I agreed to the slumber party because Calli quickly pointed out that Grammie told her that when I was little she let me have 20 girls sleep over...thanks mom! But she was right. I did. And many times it was crazy!!! My mom definately should get extra brownie points for enduring that many girls at one time :) I think the girls went to bed about 1:30 am only because I made them lay down....I know I'm mean!

The girls were sweet and most importantly Calli had fun and since it was her celebration...that's all that matters!
