11 YEARS OF BLISS

Wow! It's been a while!!! Where have I been? Let's just say here, there and everywhere! 2 Friday's ago, Wes and I celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary! Where has time gone? Now Wes is not very good with birthdays, anniversaries, or any kind of special occassions. He's not good at planning anything and sometimes not even good at remembering them. I'm okay with it, I've just come to accept it. So when he told me about a month ago that he was going to Kansas from April 23rd through the 26th, I just laughed. "You know you'll miss our anniversary?" I said. "Oh man, I should have called you to see if we had anything" was his response. I was ok with it.

And I was really ok with it when he came home a few days later and said "I've got a surprise for you....something you'll really like!". Those kind of comments I take with a grain of salt because my kind of surprise is not the same as his kind of surprise. I was expecting that we were getting a new boat/tractor/animal. All things I really wouldn't want but he thinks if he "sells" the idea to me I'll get excited. But this time, my pessimism was in error. He had found where one of his new favorite country singers was singing in College Station at Hurricane Harry's! Now this was very exciting to me because I have had the itch to go dancing for about 8 months and he has ignored my request each and every time I bring it up. And Hurricane Harry's was one of my favorite places to go dancing when I was at A&M. It was a perfect match and a perfect way to celebrate!

So, this past Friday, Wes and I headed to my old stompin' grounds to celebrate and enjoy a couple of days to ourselves. Let me just say that I want more nights like that. Who says that 35 and 40 year olds can't have a little youthful, harmless fun every once in a while! The music was good, the dancing was good (although I wish I had done more of it...it got crowded) and just being back in College Station with Wes brought back lots of good memories. We stayed the night in College Station and Sunday headed over to Brenham for a little strowl through the town and shopping. I don't have any pictures but you'll have to trust we had fun!

Check back for details on Calli's exciting day today! That post will have pictures. And finally today is Grandpa Murdock's birthday!! Happy Birthday to one awesome, lovable dad (and Grandpa!) I won't say how old he is but let's just say it's a milestone and it's not the 50 or the 70...oops was that too much information dad? He's out of town so celebrations for his special day will be at a later day. Hope you had an awesome day though!

And as for the past 11 years I'll just say that I have an amazing husband! I love him more today than I did 11 years ago for sure!
