HIS FIRST ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENT!

This is a milestone folks....this kid is all about playing but this year his teacher managed to get him to buckle down and learn a little. I know, I know at this age they are supposed to just play and let me tell you that he got his masters in it! Maybe next year he'll go for his Doctrine.

We celebrated Thursday with a small Pre-K graduation. The kids sang us several songs and then officially received their diploma...okay, certificate of completion. My little stinker stood right in front of me as we were in the front row. When the first line in the first song came on, he got a big grin on his face, stared right at me and put his hands in his pockets. Then his little buddy next to him, saw Colson and did the same thing. While 30 other kids sang at the top of their lungs and performed the hand motions that they had been practicing for weeks, I stared Colson down mouthing to him, "Do the motions". Each time I said it, he would giggle through his big grin. He did sing all of the words with enthusiasm but had he gotten off balance, he would have fallen flat on his face as I'm sure his hands were close to being glued in his pockets.

As the kids received their diplomas, their teacher announced what each wanted to be when they grew up. Colson made us so proud....."When I asked Colson what he wanted to be when he grew up" his teacher said, "he said I don't really want to do anything." Mrs. Jeanne said after some prodding he finally said "Okay if I have to do something, I'll be a policeman". He's told me before that he wants to be a policeman because "policeman can't go to jail right mom?"

After the graduation, we spent the day at the YMCA fun pool in celebration. I love that Colson loves school. He said he doesn't want to take a break and thought he was supposed to start Kindergarten on Monday.

As part of the party gift, I made these hats with each child's initial on them and then the kids went around and signed their names to each others hats. It was cute!

WHO'S KID IS THIS MAKING THIS AWFUL HAND GESTURE?
