Let's be clear...Colson has ONLY a LOVE relationship with his 4 wheeler. He got one for Christmas 3 years ago and last summer got a new one. It's in the shop a lot and when he gets it back he rides it frequently until it goes back in the shop. He just does circles around the yard and has so much fun! The LOVE part for me comes when he's having fun! I know he's doing "boy" stuff and totally digging it. It looks fun to me too! The HATE part comes when he goes a little too fast. It can make your heart stop. I've gotten used to it and feel comfortable with him riding it because I see he can manueaver it. But there is a limit even for me when he starts going too fast. And my limit is sooner than Wes'. So I frequently get the disgusted look as I tell him to slow down.
A few weeks ago he had just gotten it back out of the shop and spent a majority of the afternoon riding and riding and riding and riding. Lo and behold he learned how to do donuts. This is not learned....I don't even think he has ever seen anyone else doing it...it just came to him. Can't you see sweet little girls riding on their 4 wheelers (and Calli has one) and thinking 'Hmmm, I wonder if I can keep spinning in circles to stir up all this dirt. I bet that would be fun'. He didn't know his skill had a name. He was doing donuts in our backyard and lovin' every minute of it.
