SAY CHEESE!

After donning her braces for 364 days, Dr. Middleton decided they needed to come off. So we headed to the orthodontist yesterday for a very long visit. Not only did she remove of her braces, she also removed of a tooth.

With a bracket left on it. Ha! But that tooth didn't come out without some good ole Calli tears. I mean what kind of day would it be without the tears for this event. The hygenist (is that what they are called in an orthodontist office?) went to pull the bracket off of the tooth and it apparantly was very loose and the tooth started coming with it. She immediately stopped as I'm sure Calli's eyes became the size of golf balls. She did not want that tooth to come out. Calli never complains of things hurting. She rarely goes crazy when she gets hurt but she has some sense of anxiety when it comes to teeth coming out of her mouth. She gets one pulled on Monday and she's been nervous about it since she found out 2 weeks ago. So even though her pulling on it didn't hurt, she was scared it would hurt. She began crying and Dr. Middleton told her she could just leave it on (with the bracket) and when the tooth came out on it's own, the bracket would too obviously. You could tell this bothered Calli as they began other work and she kept seeing this silver thing in her nice clean smile. So she finally asked Dr. Middleton if it would hurt if she pulled it. Dr. Middleton said "can you count to one?" and Calli said "one" and she said "that's how long it would take to come out. She convinced Calli to hold my hand and on the count of one she'd pull it out...."Ready, Set...One" Only I think it was out on Set.

So Calli was happy and made sure the tooth fairy knew about her drama.
    Dear Toothfairy,
What is your name? What do you do with my tooth?
Do you have a special power or a magic wand? What is your special power?
    Love, Calli

PS. It took alot of meltdowns to get this tooth out so please give me the best thing you have.
    Thanks! Calli
