PERSISTANCE PAYS OFF

Calli has tried for 2 summers to get Hudson to like the water. For the most part he wants nothing to do with it. He tells you he wants to go fwimming but I sometimes he think that fwimming is just getting your fwim suit on. Occassionally he plays on the beach part of the pool and very rarely he lets Calli hold him in the pool.

But (you knew there was a but) that all changed at his family birthday celebration Friday night! Not only did he WANT to fwim....not only did he get his fwim suit on....not only did he play on the beach entry....not only did he let Calli hold him in the big pool part...BUT HE LET GO OF HER HANDS AND FLOATED ALL BY HIMSELF. It was comical because we all got so excited we were yelling at everyone to look at him. He had a big grin on his face and was trying not to move a muscle as he called out "Grammie look I'm fwimming". It's like he thought if he moved even the slightest he might sink. After a while though he began peddling his legs and actuallly moving around a little bit. And then instead of him dragging us out of the pool, we had to drag him out.

And being the greatest aunt in the world, we got him a mini trampoline for his birthday. Now he doesn't have to come to Gotchie and Colson's house to jump on their trampoline.

We had fun celebrating this big milestone...oh what a joy!
