First grade does this day up big! They do snacks, hats, glasses, a parade so they can show the rest of the school that they are celebrating for all of them and that maybe first grade isn't so bad after all. Actually I'm sure alot of them would go back to first grade without hesitation. They kicked the morning off with a parade through all the classrooms announcing "Happy 100th Day of School". Each child was to make their own shirt with 100 items on it. Colson picked gummy worms. We hot glued them on but I'm still not certain he won't eat them. I told them the glue was poisonous but words like that don't mean much to him.
They spent the day doing centers of all kinds of fun stuff centered around 100. Mrs. Hurst told them they were 100 days smarter so of course they had to do some work. You should have heard the gasps when Mrs. Hurst passed out a Math packet of 100 math problems. The gasps were my cue to exit!
