Yes, these are posed but only because the coach and/or the umpire were in the way when he did it "in the moment" in one of his recent games. So we played our last season game on Tuesday and go figure Colson is just now getting his stride. And he doesn't want to stop. He told me Monday on the way to his game that he didn't want to stop playing baseball, he wanted to keep his same team and his same coach.
When we started the season we held our breath hoping he would even make contact with the ball. Mid season we held our breath in hopes that he wouldn't hit it to the first baseman AGAIN. Now we hold our breath seeing if it goes over the fence or hits it. He's a slugger.
When we started the season he played third a lot and would lob the ball to first base. Mid season he was playing center field a lot because he had a good arm and could get it into the in field fast. Now he's playing second base or centerfield and actually making outs. He did have a funny moment last week when he stopped a hard line drive at second, scooped it up and threw it to the first baseman as the RUNNER was running right in front of him to second. He was so excited because he thought he did the right thing but then felt silly that he didn't even think of tagging the runner.
So, we start our playoffs tomorrow and by the end of next week it will all be over....until next season.
