TOUGH GUY?

Why is it that Colson gets tapped by his sister and immediately burst into tears but can get trampled over by a sheep and seems not even the slightest bit uncomfortable? Strange huh? Not strange, convenient!

A couple of weeks ago, Wes signed Colson up to do a mutton busting at a rodeo in Huntsville. I saw this for the first time at last years rodeo and if you haven't seen it it's quite comical. Wes has been wanting to get Colson signed up for one but for whatever reason it has never worked out. I won't tell you the drama that led up to the arrival at this event but let's just say we almost missed it and I wasn't very happy.

But luckily we made it in time and the comic relief lightened my spirits. If you don't know what mutton busting is, it's similiar to bull riding...except there is no bucking bull (so I know, it's not that similar). It's a kids event where they are stuck on a sheep, decked out with a helmet and protective vest, and told to hold on for dear life. Once the sheep is let out of the pen, he runs through the arena trying to get the said kid off of its back.

Colson held on all right. And he must have had a little to much for lunch because he rode the sheep right into the ground, and then wouldn't let go. Hey, he was told not to! So that was the first run. His second run had him on a little stronger sheep I guess because he rode it for the 6 seconds and kept on riding (they stop the timer at 6 so I don't know what his actual time was).

Except for the hour leading up to the event, it was fun. Colson thought it was cool and having his friend Flint there to cheer him on made him feel pretty cool.
