That was Colson's chant as we pulled ourselves into LegoLand today. We were all pumped to venture into the park and see what awaited us. Today it was Hilary, Caroline (8), Kate (7) and Julia (5) (she left Sarah, 2 1/2 with a friend) me, Calli and Colson. It was overcast and kinda cool which made for good standing in line weather. We weren't too keen on standing in line though, not as keen as the others thousands of people that liked to. We found rides and events that were less than 15 minutes long and skipped those (that may have been more fun) that were 60-90 minutes long. We still had fun.
We were all amazed at the numerous things that were made out of pure legos. They had one section of the park that were miniature cities built out of legos.
Then all throughout the park, they had people built out of legos. Colson wanted his picture with this baseball player because "he plays baseball too."
And I wanted my picture with this policeman because...welll I'm frequently seen wtih policemen (they know I'm a good ticket paying citizen).
After a few hours of the regular LegoLand, we ventured over to the LegoLand Waterpark.
We were waiting for the sun to come out but it never did. No sun in San Diego makes for a cold day in the water. As we stood in line, teeth chattering, body quivering and me trying to give other options of things to do, the kids still wanted to go down the water slides. And the one ride they really liked, they had to have an adult with them. Our stay was cut a little shorter than the kids (not Hilary and I) wanted when someone decided to do their "business" in the pool. And NO it wasn't mine...OR HILARY'S. That incident closed down four of the funnest water slides. Which made the other rides a little more crowded and the coldness started to wear on the kids.
I will have to admit I wasn't overly impressed with LegoLand. I won't say I was disappointed and it was worth the money but I definately wouldn't plan a whole trip to San Diego just to do this park. And I definately wouldn't come with kids any older than mine. I think the perfect age for this park would be 5 or 6 with a lot to do for even younger than that. We had a great day though and the kids all got along. Stay tuned for more adventures in Cali.
