THE RIDE OF OUR LIFE

We hopped up early this morning to venture back to Universal Studios. I will say that was the smartest move on our trip. Until about noon there were NO lines for anything. Colson made friends with the shuttle driver and was his co-pilot.

We were heading for the two "scarier" rides in the park when we passed by one we went on yesterday that was awesome. There was NO wait so we hopped on that one again. Then we headed to the Mummy ride. And there is where Hilary and I would have spent the whole day.

We drug all the kids on it with us and really there was no arguing. They were all game. UNTIL the ride starts through a dark cave where there are skeleton arms hanging down, ghosts talking in deep ghouly voices and it suddenly goes pitch dark and our car drops BIG at 80 miles an hour and it was all over. Screaming and crying from all of us and Colson was next to me mumbling something. As the ride ended he told me "I just kept telling myself it's all fake, it's all fake". It was a BLAST! We exited the ride and Calli was saying it was really scary and maybe she would go on it again. Caroline said she might too. Kate said NO WAY, I'm not going! And Colson said he wasn't that scared but he wasn't going because it wouldn't be as fun the second time because he would know what was happening. Yea right! That's code for....that scared the bejeebies out of me. He did say he might have nightmares. I may have just reinstated our whole "stay in the kitchen" episodes that we just outgrew in May.
Anyways before the day was over we all rode it at least one more time (except Colson) and guess who ended up riding it 4 times.....KATE!

Here's the mummy out amongst the people being social.

We rode the Jurassic Park ride a couple of times getting completely soaked and then spent the rest of the day watching the remaining shows. All very cute. This park was overwhelmingly fun! And because there were a lot of shows, there weren't long waits in lines and when you were in line, they were entertaining you so you felt like you weren't in line. And of course as we were wandering the streets we stumbled across many of our favorite friends and happened upon different short "acts" to stop and watch.
And then Colson found this 3000 pound gorilla he wanted to take home. I told him we'd have to buy an extra plane ticket for him to make it home with us. He didn't see why that was such a big deal.
