THE BIG DAY

So I'm a little behind on keeping up with our life. When I'm caught up on life I feel behind on work...when I'm caught up on work, I feel behind in life. Ahhhh such is the life of a mother huh? So we celebrated Calli's 11th birthday with the family the weekend before her birthday. Her birthday fell on a Monday and this year I talked her into toning it down a little. I usually go all out for birthdays but I just wasn't feeling it this year and most of her friends don't even have parties and the older they get, they less they do. I stuck with tradition and brought cookie cake up for her class...the day I become a hero to 24 kids!
Who can resist cookie cake? And then I  took 4 of her friends from school and met up to get Carson (who goes to New Waverly schools) and we headed to our house. We did a little present game that I made up on the fly and the girls oohed and awed over what they each gave Calli. Girls get so excited!
Then they just did some good old fashioned playing outside. A little trampoline time, some scooter time and rip razer races did the soul good.

For dinner we went to one of Calli's favorites...White Ginger, a Japanese Steakhouse. You know the kind where they cook at the Hibachi tables. A few of the girls had never been to one so of course it was a fun experience.

Our "chef" told them they were really at Burger King and he was there to flip burgers which got a giggle out of the girls most of the night (once they realized what he was saying after the 5th time). He even let Calli flip some rice.

We finished the night at Calli's absolute favorite...Tutti Fruiti with some yummy frozen yogurt. It was a fun night and a special night and that's what matters!
