I decided earlier this year that for Calli's 11th birthday I was going to get her a new bed...a trundle bed. I was tired of looking at the pallets I made for our overnight guests remain on the floor for days after. I was even more tired of picking them up. I think sometimes I even said no to friends spending the night because in my subconscience I didn't want to have to clean up all those blankets.
So I looked in a couple of furniture stores around here but didn't really see any I liked. I looked online at Pottery Barn and found several I loved! I narrowed them down to 2 and let Calli be the final decision maker. You have to understand if I had given her the 10 options that would have worked, she may have decided on one when she was 16. The girl has a hard time making up her mind. So narrowing it down to 2 made my life much easier (and hers!). After 24 hours of sleeping on her decision this is the bed she decided on....
We splatter painted her wall the week prior to it's delivery so what my in laws would say was a poor paint job, we say is art! I told her that her bed was coming in on Friday after her birthday, all along knowing it was being delivered on Thursday. Calli is a fun girl to pull surprises like this on.
I think she thought the bed was going to bite the way she was backing into the corner. Did you happen to catch Colson's very excited face turn very disappointed after about 2 seconds? It's kinda hard to tell in the small screen. His words? "Why does Calli always get a bed?" My kids have two words they throw around for everything....always and never. Let's see that's Calli's 2nd bed (3rd if you count her crib). How does that constitute always?
