WOW! What a place! This city is bustling with strange people, lots of lights, crazy drivers and now the Schubert and Cecil girls.....look out NEW YORK! Our flight was good and everyone did great. We arrived in New York about 5:45 and headed for the hotel. I had to sit in the front seat with the cab driver who spoke MAYBE 5 words to me and that's because I asked him a question. I shouldn't be complaining because I'd much rather have that than the opposite. I don't know how we made it alive and I'm convinced that he has to change his brakes more often than I do.
The goal tonight was to get settled into our room and walk through Times Square on our way to Santa at Macy's. Macy's in New York definately knows how to do Christmas right. 8 floors of Macy's and packed with people. We stood in a fairly short line to see the famous Macy's Santa who Jennifer thought was quite creepy. Calli requested and Ipod touch and Carson requested a laptop from Mr. Clause himself and Jennifer and I just smiled for the picture....an $18 6x8 picture I might add. As we were looking at our pictures the girls got distracted by one of the elves who was having so much fun with them. She was laughing and talking to them and when I was done I went over and she introduced herself to us. Elf Giggles (didn't have to wonder where she got her name) could not stop complimenting how absolutely darling our girls were. I could not stop staring at her with this crazy look on my face because she was talking as if she had been sucking helium all her life. I'm not kidding...I'm laughing right now.

I asked both Carson and Calli what their favorite part of today was and they both said the Charmin "exhibit". Who knew??? In the middle of Times Square, there is a place to view the cleanest restrooms in the world. None of us had to go to the bathroom so we didn't get to see although we should have just said we did so we could have seen. But it was a set up of several "stations" where you could do all kinds of stuff. Take your picture on a giant toilet, dance on the Charmin stage, vote for your favorite Charmin bear and of course buy a tshirt. They probably had 25 employees working the place and the girls thought it was great. I think when it's not so cold they even have Charmin singers and dancers outside as a way to attract.

So, tomorrow we head to the Today show and embark on the rest of New York City. Should be fun and cold!!!!! No snow tomorrow I don't think though.
